Council approves business license for local center serving people with disabilities and veterans

The City of Franklin Springs council approved a business-license application and welcomed the applicant, who introduced his daughter and described plans for a community center focused on serving people with disabilities, veterans and individuals with PTSD.
The applicant (who identified himself as Frank) said the center grew from prior work in schools and community programs and that the operation will provide services for disabled people, people with PTSD and retired veterans. "We do a lot for disabled people, PTSD, retired vet," the applicant said.
Councilors made a motion to approve the license and voted by voice to grant it; the meeting record shows the motion was moved by Tommy and seconded by Josh. Council also moved to expedite signage so the business can proceed with grand-opening work.
Council members welcomed the new business, told the applicant city staff would assist as needed and then moved on to the rest of the agenda.
