The Gilmer City Council on Tuesday accepted a reissued Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the 2024 fiscal year and the accompanying federal single audit, after Accounting Manager Garrett Williamson told council that federal ARPA-funded expenditures exceeded the $750,000 threshold that triggers a single audit.
Williamson said the single-audit determination was clean. "The determination of the audit was clean," he reported to council, and no material findings were announced during the presentation.
The single audit was required because ARPA grant spending exceeded the federal reporting threshold, Williamson said. Mayor Pro-Tem Pete Herrmann moved to approve the reissued ACFR, Councilmember Jerry Webb seconded, and the council approved the report by a 6–0 vote.
The approval completes the city's follow-up on federal grant reporting for fiscal 2024; council did not direct additional action. The reissued ACFR will be retained in the city's public financial records.
