The Coralville City Council voted Feb. 24 to rezone and approve site and final-plat documents for the Lucky Pete Subdivision.
Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-1001 to rezone the property from C-2 Arterial Commercial to C-PUD 1 (Commercial Planned Unit Development One). The council also adopted a resolution approving the PUD-A site plan and a resolution approving the final plat for the Lucky Pete Subdivision.
Councilmember Katie Freeman asked whether there is a contingency plan if the proposed developer cannot secure financing to build the planned e-sports arena. City Administrator Kelly Hayworth said any substantive plan change would require the owner to bring a new plan back to the council for approval.
The ordinance and resolutions were introduced and approved on third and final consideration as required by law.
The council also approved an amendment to Chapter 69 of the Code of Ordinances regarding parking regulations at the meeting; the ordinance will be declared adopted after publication as required by law.
