The York Board of Education met Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at the Office of the Superintendent and approved a series of routine and personnel actions, including three teacher resignations and a paid contract for a middle-school science teacher. The board also approved an early graduation request and raised the summer Driver’s Education fee to $400 per student.
The board began at 7:00 p.m. and recorded attendance; Matthew Holthe was absent and the board, on a motion by Board member Pepper Papineau seconded by Alison North, formally excused his absence by unanimous roll call (5-0). The board then approved the minutes of its Feb. 9, 2026 meeting on a motion by Alex Hildebrand, seconded by Brian Tonniges (5-0).
Under personnel business, Board member Brian Tonniges moved and Alex Hildebrand seconded a motion to accept the resignations of Hannah Cast, Andee Felber and Dusten Bruss; the motion passed by roll call vote 5-0. Later, the board approved a 2026–27 contract for Jeff Shabram (A-5, YMS Science) on a motion by Pepper Papineau, seconded by Alison North (5-0).
The board also approved an early graduation request for student Riley Snider on a motion by Alex Hildebrand, seconded by Alison North (5-0).
On program fees, Board member Brian Tonniges moved and Pepper Papineau seconded a motion to raise the summer Driver’s Education rate to $400 per student; the motion passed by roll call vote 5-0.
