The Dubois County Advocacy for Recovery and Prevention Council (ARC), rebranded from the Substance Abuse Council in 2024, presented an update on its 2025 programs and grant distributions. ARC Coordinator Jenna Bieker Jones, Treasurer Jenny Lampert and ARC Chairman Jimmy Hay outlined that annual funding is divided among prevention/education, treatment/intervention, criminal‑justice services and discretionary awards.
Jones asked for appropriation of the 2026 Drug Free Community funds totaling $49,405.30. The council approved a Personal Services allocation of $12,351.32 and an Other Services allocation of $37,053.98 for contracted services; both motions passed unanimously.
Auditor Sandra L. Morton presented an amendment to the Salary Ordinance to set the ARC Coordinator’s pay at a maximum of $23.41 per hour for 22 hours per month, with six additional hours available during grant periods. The council approved the amended salary ordinance unanimously.
Coordinator Jones said the ARC meets monthly on the second Tuesday at the Jasper Public Library and invited public attendance; no further funding conditions were recorded at the meeting.
