West Milford accepts Cordico wellness grant, AAA pedestrian funds and approves dispatch recorder purchase

The council on May 20 approved three separate public-safety related actions. First, it accepted an SFY26 Law Enforcement Wellness and Resiliency grant (award #LEW-26-15) for $8,099.10 to procure the Cordico wellness platform and to expand mental-health and wellness programming for police personnel. Minutes note the grant period runs April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027 and lists intended uses including counseling access, wellness screenings and program enhancements.
Second, the council authorized acceptance of a Pedestrian Safety Enforcement grant from AAA (administered by the NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety) of up to $1,120 to fund targeted pedestrian-safety enforcement details; the grant covers officer overtime for enforcement details as described in the resolution.
Third, under NJ State Contract 83891 the council authorized purchase of an Eventide 40-port Analog and IP recording system for the municipal radio dispatch (cost $22,927) to replace aging analog logging equipment; the CFO certified funds for that purchase from the indicated account. The minutes record each of these items as approved by council motion with CFO certification where required.
Taken together the grant awards and technology purchase indicate the township is investing in officer wellness, pedestrian enforcement capacity and updated dispatch-recording equipment.
