The commission said a realtor contract has been signed and that portions of property with interested parties have been held for six months. The realtor requested and received updated information on utilities and an updated map showing the industrial park, the rest stop, planned road extension, and a proposed detention pond outline for marketing purposes.
Members discussed timing for the industrial‑park road extension. One update stated mobilization would begin late in the month or the beginning of July with an expected completion by fall; retention‑pond work was described as likely to start in August or September and to be completed by the end of the year.
On the pond adjacent to the Interstate, staff relayed comments from Scott Bauer (water and gas) that part of that area was set aside as a wetland related to prior work at Hunters Reservoir, and as a result ‘‘I don't think we can touch it,’’ although staff said they would verify with Dean to confirm constraints and ownership. That statement was reported by staff as the city utilities contact’s assessment and remains to be confirmed.
Commission counsel and staff said they have contacted the Redevelopment Authority (RDA) about conveyance of certain industrial‑park parcels and hope to place conveyance/acceptance on the July agenda so formal action could proceed later in the year if paperwork is returned.
The meeting closed this item with no formal votes; staff will continue due diligence on wetlands, finalize realtor materials, and follow up with the RDA on conveyance paperwork.
