Board approves slate of early voting officials for March 3 primary

The Orange County Board of Elections voted unanimously Jan. 13 to appoint the slate of early voting officials recommended by the elections office for the March 3, 2026 Statewide Primary and Orange County Schools Board of Education election.
Director Rachel Raper described the administrative process used to compile recommendations, saying the office received lists from the Democratic and Republican parties, surveyed prior election officials about willingness to serve and considered party affiliation, prior service and training, availability and expressed preferences for shift and location.
Elvira Mebane moved to approve the slate and Ann Brooks seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Raper said recommendations were made to ensure balanced party representation, training compliance and staffing coverage across early voting locations and shifts.
