Mayor asks commission to consider joining amended Tennessee opioid abatement agreement

County Mayor D. Gary Davis told the commission at the Aug. 25 work session that he was presenting a resolution to authorize Bradley County to join the State of Tennessee and other local governments in amending the Tennessee State Subdivision Opioid Abatement Agreement and to approve related settlement agreements.
Commissioner Mike Hughes placed the resolution on the Sept. 2, 2025 voting-session agenda; no vote or further discussion was recorded at the work session. The work session transcript records only the presentation and the referral; it does not include the text of the proposed amendment, the financial terms of any settlements, or which settlements the county would be approving.
Because the item was referred to a voting session, commissioners will have the opportunity to review the proposed amendment language and any associated settlement documents before any formal action is taken.
