River Ridge board approves RG Architects engagement and signage redesign plans

The River Ridge Board approved two design initiatives intended to refresh community entry points and neighborhood monuments. The Board authorized Bowman to retain RG Architects, P.A. as a subconsultant under Bowman terms to redesign two gatehouses (facelifts rather than demolition) and approved the Bowman Consulting Group proposal for landscape architecture services to replace monuments and signage across Pelican Sound.
Eric Long presented the RG Architects fee proposal, noting the main gate requires redesign because low clearance has led to repeated vehicle strikes. The Board discussed elevation certificates and a possible 12–18 month design and permitting timeline; Mr. Krebs said a new elevation certificate will be required and construction drawings may be available from the Development Order.
The Board discussed booking the $62,500 design expenditure as a reimbursable up‑front deferred cost to be invoiced to the CDD when financing is issued and noted the project cost is below the CCNA threshold; Bowman would subcontract RG and seek reimbursement when construction begins (anticipated 2026). The Board also approved Bowman’s master signage program, with neighborhood monument replacements budgeted under Pelican Sound replacement reserves.
On motions by Mr. Blumenthal seconded by Mr. Mountford and by Mr. Blumenthal seconded by Mr. Schultz, both actions passed with all in favor.
