River Ridge CDD adopts 2024/25 budget and approves special-assessment roll

The River Ridge Community Development District on Aug. 27 adopted its fiscal year 2024/2025 budget and approved a companion resolution imposing special assessments for the same period, the Board said.

District Manager Chuck Adams told the Board the version of the budget in the agenda contained errors; staff corrected scrivener issues including the street‑sweeping description before the public hearing. Mrs. Adams opened the hearing; no property owners spoke. On a motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the Board adopted Resolution 2024‑07 adopting the budget as amended.

At a separate public hearing, District Counsel Tony Pires recommended opening the assessment‑roll hearing. No members of the public spoke. The Board amended Resolution 2024‑08 to delete all references to “Exhibit B” and then adopted the resolution imposing special assessments for Fiscal Year 2024/2025 (motion by Blumenthal; second by Twombly).

The votes on both measures were recorded as unanimous by the supervisors present; the Board had three supervisors attending in person and one participating by telephone.

The budget adoption corrects previous descriptive errors in the published budget and authorizes the district’s appropriations for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1, 2024, and ends Sept. 30, 2025. The assessments resolution certifies the assessment roll and provides for collection and enforcement of the assessments, as described in the resolution adopted by the Board.

The Board did not receive any public comments during either hearing. Next steps include posting the adopted budget consistent with district rules and implementing the assessment collection for the new fiscal year.
