Commissioners authorize three-year weights-and-measures agreement with Wrentham, rate unchanged

The Norfolk County Commissioners authorized the county director to enter into a three-year intermunicipal agreement (IMA) for sealer of weights-and-measures services with the town of Wrentham during the June 3 meeting.
Bill (staff) described the program as one of the county's original regional services, noting Wrentham was an early participant. The IMA keeps the same service levels and the rate unchanged from the prior term. Officials said the town manager of Wrentham has already signed the agreement.
Commissioners clarified effective dates and the start/stop of the agreement. Staff confirmed the effective date will be July 1, 2026, terminating June 30, 2029. The board discussed the absence of a date on one printed copy but staff identified the date on page three of the agreement and confirmed the term.
Bill said the county currently serves six towns under the regional program and that two additional towns are being discussed, one of them possibly a larger central-town within the county and another likely to appear on an upcoming agenda.
A motion to authorize County Director Mr. Cronin to sign the IMA on the county's behalf was moved and seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
