At their June 24 meeting, the Norfolk County Commissioners approved a slate of personnel actions, payroll warrants and two fiscal year‑end transfers as staff worked to close the county's books for FY2026.
The board moved and approved contingent appointments for student summer staff for the Norfolk County Agricultural High School, listing Savannah Whiting, Alex Kim, Ellanena Nichols, Gabriel Morrow, Samantha Anderson, Maximilian Merlos and Sus Daly for summer student roles. Commissioners also approved notices of resignation for Matthew Keading, Lucas Turchie and Kelly Quinnland and formalized an address change/appointment for Aaron Hayes in the animal‑science program.
Christopher Madden was approved as a seasonal golf associate at the stated rate with the effective date presented. Commissioners also formally noted the retirement of Carl Miner and approved the interim appointment of Todd Salomon as interim superintendent, effective per the packet. All personnel motions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call; the meeting record shows affirmative votes from Commissioners Stady, Collins and Shay.
The board approved payroll and expense warrants presented by staff, including county payroll warrant 26‑51 (reported in the meeting as $151,984). Other warrant figures in the spoken record were not clearly legible on the audio/transcript and are recorded in county minutes; commissioners voted to approve the full list of payroll and expense warrants submitted in the packet.
Staff presented two year‑end transfer requests: one within Facilities reallocating items—snow removal, education of employees, roofing and pest control—and a second request within IT that shifted funds from computer‑supply lines to repair/service accounts. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved both transfers by roll call vote.
Commissioners emphasized the need to complete fiscal‑year close work and to hold a brief remote session on July 1 to finalize outstanding year‑end items.
