Dobbs Ferry approves access agreement to join Town of Greenberg's Central Square police records system

The Dobbs Ferry Board of Trustees authorized on June 23 an access agreement allowing the village police department to join the Town of Greenberg's Central Square records-management platform.
Chief (police) told the board the village's current records-management system (Impact 2.0) went end of life 15 years ago and that migrating historical records would be costly. He described Greenberg's Central Square instance as a working, field-tested RMS used by the town and as a cost-effective path for Dobbs Ferry to maintain records and facilitate future shared services with neighboring municipalities. "It is the best and most cost-effective product that I've seen," he said.
The agreement approved by the board establishes Dobbs Ferry's ability to come onto Greenberg's licensed platform; the chief said a subsequent resolution will request the sales order and set funding for the purchase. He also said staff will work with Greenberg to define what information is shared across participating agencies. The chief emphasized the village will retain access to existing historical data stored on its servers (Impact) and does not plan a complete migration of legacy records in order to control costs.
Trustees approved the access agreement by voice vote. Administration said staff will present the sales order and proposed budgeting for the new service at a later meeting and will continue to coordinate details such as migration scope and intermunicipal data-sharing rules.
