Prairie City council approves loan resolution for water improvements, adopts FY25 budget amendment

Prairie City Council approved Resolution 2-12-25-2 taking additional action on a proposed General Obligation Water Improvement Loan and Disbursement Agreement after opening and promptly closing a public hearing with no public comments.
Shortly afterward, the council opened and closed a public hearing to amend the city’s FY25 budget and approved Resolution 2-12-25-3 adopting that amendment. Council also scheduled a special meeting for April 2, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. to approve the property tax levy rate and set a separate meeting for April 23, 2025 to adopt the final budget.
The motions were routine and carried unanimously on roll call votes. Council members moved the loan and budget measures forward as part of ongoing water capital planning and budget housekeeping. The Phase 2 Water Project contract approvals and construction administration planning were discussed elsewhere on the agenda with MSA representatives present; billings for certain contracted services will begin after SRF loan approval.
