Silver Creek Township appoints deputy clerk, posts clerk job ad and approves routine agenda items

At its July 9, 2024, meeting the Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors appointed Julie Urbatch as Deputy Clerk and approved several routine administrative actions, including placing a one-week clerk hiring ad and signing a liquor license for a local business.
Interim Clerk Nancy Betzler requested that Julie Urbatch be appointed Deputy Clerk. Chairman Chris Newman moved to appoint Urbatch; Vice Chairman Mike Helman seconded. The motion carried 4-0.
The board agreed to place a clerk hiring advertisement in the Drummer for one week at a cost of $177.20 on a motion by Chairman Newman, seconded by Supervisor Helman; the motion carried 4-0. Earlier in the meeting Supervisor Mike Helman moved and Supervisor Sandy Forsman seconded approval of the meeting agenda, prior minutes from June 4 and June 21 and the list of claims/disbursements; each motion carried by recorded vote of 4-0.
The board also authorized negotiations for a new printer (motion by Supervisor Mike Helman, seconded by Supervisor Sandy Forsman) and moved to sign the Hasty Truck Stop liquor license (motion by Chairman Chris Newman, seconded by Supervisor Brandon Geyen); both motions carried 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m. on a motion by Supervisor Brandon Geyen, seconded by Supervisor Mike Helman.
The minutes note that the board will review a proposed Right of Way Policy, including driveway culvert replacement provisions and three ordinances (Driveway Ordinance, Right of Way Ordinance, Right of Way Obstruction Ordinance) at the Aug. 20 meeting; no vote on those policies was taken on July 9.
