Hubbard-Radcliffe board approves disposal of educational broadband license, several contracts and purchases

The Hubbard-Radcliffe Community School District Board of Education on June 15 approved a resolution to dispose of an educational broadband service (EBS) license to NSAC, LLC following a brief public hearing with no public comment.
The hearing opened at 6:53 p.m. and closed at 6:54 p.m.; the roll-call votes recorded Ayes from Jacob Bolson, Marty Eide, Erin Nelson and Tracey Rieks, with Laura Imsland absent. The board then approved a "Resolution for Disposal of Personal Property" to authorize the transfer of the EBS license.
In the same meeting the board approved multiple routine and capital items. The board accepted a bid from Cy-Ment Construction for concrete work at a cost of $18,398.25 and approved a Water Treatment Service Agreement with Garratt Callahan at $7,200 per year. It also approved the purchase of an Intermedia Unite phone system with an approximate one-time cost of $4,900 and an estimated recurring monthly fee of about $915.
The board approved personnel actions bundled on the consent agenda, including denial of one open-enrollment request due to lack of expected space, a resignation from Kelli Nehring (kitchen assistant), and conditional contracts for teacher Ashley Cunningham, custodian Ryan Cross and Buildings and Grounds employee Trevor Keninger pending background checks; corrected custodian contracts for KD Burkett and Austin Meyers and coaching contracts for softball and baseball for 2026–27 were also approved.
Board members authorized disposal of two buses, identified as #12 and #14, to be sold via sealed bids. The board approved three agreements with Central Rivers Area Education Agency for 2026–27: the Service Agreement, the Special Education Enhancement Services Agreement and the District Technology Services Agreement.
The board conducted most votes by motion and "motion carried" was recorded for routine approvals; the EBS license disposal was recorded by roll-call with the four present members voting in the affirmative and one member absent. The meeting adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
