Malone board approves $1.26 million in bills, OKs sand purchase and routine administrative actions

The clerk’s voucher summary lists General Fund and multiple special funds; line items called out in the minutes include an Ambulance District payment of $318,240.00, a Fire Protection District payment of $526,968.00 and an Airport Capital Project charge of $216,907.04. The grand total recorded was $1,263,776.10. The resolution was adopted Ayes 4, Nays 0.
On winter operations, Highway Superintendent Michael Andrews reported crews were fitting metal on the salt shed, that two BOCES students have joined the crew three days per week and that he had spoken with FEMA, which he said confirmed town paperwork was submitted and that “we should have an answer in two weeks.” He also said a transformer move scheduled from Massena may require temporarily closing Webster Street and that current sand supplies would not last the winter; the board adopted Resolution 47‑2026 authorizing purchase of additional sand from Robinsons.
The board also adopted Resolution 44‑2026 authorizing the supervisor to sign MCF physicals for Reece Herne, Mark Tredo and Gary Spinner and to add them to the Franklin County Self Insurance Plan; Resolution 45‑2026 encouraging participation by Malone Callfiremen Inc. in the Franklin County Mutual Aid Plan; Resolution 48‑2026 permitting William Latreille to let Mike Jones temporarily use his hangar; and two journal entry resolutions (49‑2026 and 50‑2026) moving $128 into airport contractual accounts and transferring $6,193 from clearinghouse to court fines revenue per comptroller notice. All recorded votes were Ayes 4, Nays 0.
The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.; the next regular board meeting was scheduled for Feb. 25, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at 27 Airport Road, Malone.
