The Wolcott Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously approved application 260144 on May 6 to allow a wellness spa at 1810 Meriden Road.
Jianping Wei, the tenant's agent, told commissioners the business would provide licensed massage therapy and that the operator would hold the required credentials. Chairman Angelo Mastrofrancesco asked whether facials would be offered; Wei responded no. Commissioner Daniel LaMontagne asked how the commission would address concerns about certain types of massage; CZEO David Kalinowski said licensing requirements for massage therapists would apply.
Wei said the proposed hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The motion to approve the site plan was made by David Ingala, seconded by Daniel LaMontagne, and passed unanimously.
