The Clearview Board of Education met June 8, 2026, and approved a series of budget, contract and personnel measures that set the district’s operating framework for the 2026–27 fiscal year.
Board action included approval of temporary appropriations and estimated resources for the year ending June 30, 2027 (RES 2026-106) and final permanent appropriations for the year ending June 30, 2026 (RES 2026-107). The board also authorized the Treasurer to adjust appropriations and revenue projections as needed before the fiscal year end (RES 2026-108).
The board approved a participation agreement with Schools of Ohio Risk Sharing Authority (SORSA) for general liability insurance at $113,635.00 for fiscal 2026–27 (RES 2026-105). It authorized multiple vendor and service agreements for the coming school year, including an Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps subscription through CDW‑G for $3,000.00 (RES 2026-110), Google Workspace licensing through CDW‑G for $20,592.25 (RES 2026-117), PaySchools payment services through i3 Education for $7,600.27 (RES 2026-112), and META filtering services for $11,424.00 covering 1,400 devices (RES 2026-113). The board also renewed applicant‑tracking services with Frontline Education for $3,101.90 and approved Vinson Group for E‑rate filing services at $3,000.00 (RES 2026-114; RES 2026-115).
On cybersecurity, the board approved an annual renewal with Vinson Protect for security audits, security action plans and cyber incident response at $14,565.00 for 07‑01‑2026 through 06‑30‑2027 (RES 2026-116). The board additionally approved two vendor quotes to repair lightning-strike damage: Vinson Group quote 1687 for $1,330.51 (RES 2026-118) and Rebman Systems quote 81793 for $6,553.76 (RES 2026-120).
Personnel and program actions included hiring Estefana Martinez as Vincent Elementary School secretary on an initial probationary one‑year contract effective Aug. 3, 2026 (RES 2026-126), continuing contracts and summer-school assignments for several certified staff members (RES 2026-127), summer pay adjustments for lead cleaners, and the appointment of a slate of summer student cleaners. The board also approved revised Education Alternatives service and student transportation agreements for 2026–27 (RES 2026-121; RES 2026-122) and admitted preschool-aged students with disabilities into a Lorain County Board of Developmental Disabilities program for 2026–27 (RES 2026-128).
The board established the Clearview Schools Robert Post Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Community Foundation of Lorain County (RES 2026-123) and accepted a series of donations to support Clearview High School activities, including campus media and numerous community gift contributions (RES 2026-129). It authorized disposal of damaged equipment, including a blender and two pianos (RES 2026-124; RES 2026-125).
One routine finance motion failed: RESOLUTION 2026-109, approving advances and transfers for the fiscal year, was defeated with Yeas from Mr. Post and Mrs. Kaya and Nays from Miss Echko, Ms. Garcia and Mrs. Guerra.
Most motions were moved and seconded by members who routinely served as movers and seconders during the meeting (Mr. Michael Post, Mrs. Kaya, Mrs. Guerra and Ms. Garcia). Where recorded, votes were unanimous except as noted above. The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.; the board scheduled a special meeting for June 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
