The Downtown Incentives Board on March 13 voted to table a recommendation to award a $15,000 façade grant to Main Street Plaza at 119 S. Main St., saying more participation should be present before the board forwards the application to Maquoketa City Council. Temporary Chair Mark Lyon called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.
City Manager Joshua Boldt introduced the façade-grant application for Main Street Plaza, describing the item for the board. Board members said they preferred more participation or representation to be present before making a formal recommendation to the City Council; the minutes record that the board "felt more participation should be present to recommend application for City Council action." Kelly Gerlach moved to table the item and Joelle Hosette seconded. The motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.
The board also handled routine procedural business. Kelly Gerlach moved and Joelle Hosette seconded approval of the meeting agenda; the motion passed with all ayes. The board then approved the Downtown Incentives Board minutes from Feb. 26, 2026, on a motion by Gerlach seconded by Hosette, also by unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 3:42 p.m. on a motion by Joelle Hosette, seconded by Kelly Gerlach.
