At its Oct. 14 meeting the Carbon County Board of Commissioners approved the consent agenda and several separate items, adopted a proclamation recognizing October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and opened a bid for courthouse roof replacement.
The consent agenda—as recorded in the minutes—included a purchase request for a trunking radio upgrade ($3,008.57); an invoice for a Board of Health meeting ($261.30); an ARPA subgrant award to Roberts Water and Sewer District ($140,945.53); a livestock veterinarian invoice ($600); a floodplain invoice ($17,582.45); and an AFLAC overpayment credit ($16.51). Commissioner Miller moved to approve the consent agenda, Bullock seconded and the motion carried.
Commissioner Bill Bullock moved and Scott Miller seconded adoption of a proclamation designating October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month; the motion carried. Elizabeth Hickson and Libby Johnson of DSVS joined the meeting; Hickson told the commissioners the organization "have continued to stay busy by assisting others," according to the minutes.
At 11:00 a.m. Bradford Roof Management submitted a bid of $105,885 for courthouse roof replacement. Commissioners agreed the roof needs replacement and County Administration scheduled an award decision for the following week. The minutes do not record a roll-call vote tally for these approvals; they are recorded as motions that "carried."
What happens next: staff will process the consent-agenda items, finalize the procurement timeline for the roof replacement and, where appropriate, proceed with subgrant and invoice processing. The proclamation is ceremonial and directs community awareness activities for the month of October.
