Commissioners approve petition to abandon 20-foot alley in Roberts

Carbon County commissioners approved a petition at their Sept. 30 meeting to abandon the west 20 feet of the alley along lots 1 through 6 of Block 9 of the Berry Addition Amended in Roberts.
Commissioner Scott Miller moved to open the public hearing, and Commissioner Bill Bullock seconded. After reviewing the petition and the Road Viewers Report, commissioners noted there are no utilities currently running through the alley. Miller moved to close the public hearing and then moved to approve the petition to abandon the west 20 feet of the alley; Bullock seconded and the motion carried.
Residents Patti and Steve Keebler and Cameron and Lindsey Anderson attended the hearing as adjacent landowners. Commissioners discussed the next procedural step of formally deeding the abandoned alley to adjacent landowners; the transcript records that deeding will be addressed following the abandonment approval.
