Red Lodge Community Foundation says Roberts housing project is moving forward; Aging in Place paused

At the Sept. 30, 2025 meeting of the Carbon County Board of Commissioners, Tracey Timmons and Brad Caton of the Red Lodge Community Foundation updated commissioners on several local projects, saying financing for a Roberts housing project has been accepted and that two Roberts units and one Red Lodge unit are already spoken for, with a possible completion timeline of fall 2026 or fall 2027.
Foundation representatives told the commissioners the Aging in Place project is on hold because VISTA funding has been paused by the federal government shutdown, and they asked for assistance arranging wood-cutting and stacking for residents who cannot do the work themselves. Timmons also reported that the Harper Recital Hall at the Roosevelt Center is nearing completion and will be available for conferences and similar events; the Foundation plans a formal presentation on that project in a few weeks.
Commissioners and Foundation representatives discussed housing needs for local residents and possible planning support; the Foundation said it intends to rotate fleet vehicles for CART. No formal action or funding decision by the board was recorded at the meeting. The Foundation representatives left after their update; a formal presentation on the recital hall was scheduled for a future meeting.
