Melbourne readies for RAGBRAI, sets cleanup and hazardous-waste pickup dates

The council set a community clean-up for May 7–11 with a $10 participation fee and a $10 charge per appliance pickup; all appliance pickups are to be completed by Friday at noon and residents must register with city hall. Hazardous-waste collection is scheduled for June 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Main Street parking lot with city hall as a rain location. Stahl asked about town garage sales; the council set June 2 for garage sales and decided not to purchase newspaper maps, instead relying on local web listings and Melbourne Happenings.
