The Melbourne City Council approved a FY17/18 budget amendment (Resolution 18-04-02) on April 9, increasing appropriations by $10,000 to allow the purchase of a used dump truck.
Mayor John White opened the published public hearing; with no public input the hearing was closed on a motion by Bunting, seconded by C. White, and the council approved the amendment by roll-call vote (all ayes). Council discussion included arranging sale of the city’s old dump truck: Gary Fricke asked about selling the vehicle and the clerk was instructed to advertise for sealed bids to be opened at the May 8 meeting.
The budget amendment was recorded as approved by unanimous vote. The amendment authorizes the council to proceed with acquiring a replacement dump truck and to accept sealed bids for the surplus vehicle as directed.
