Hillsborough County staff report $43M in stormwater spending; public hearing on rate proposal set for summer

According to the recap, the FY2025 spending covered culverts and drainage work, watershed studies and pump stations. Staff told the board that hundreds of additional projects are needed to replace aging infrastructure and improve stormwater resiliency and that staff will continue to identify potential funding sources.
The board set a public hearing this summer to discuss proposed stormwater rates for the next fiscal year. The county advised residents to watch future board materials and the public hearing for details on any proposed rate changes and funding plans.
