Stahly Engineering briefs commissioners on county bridge and road projects; Tuttle Lane prioritized

Stahly Engineering representatives presented their monthly project update to the Carbon County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 16, outlining multiple road and bridge projects and funding considerations.

Greg Benjamin, Nick Winfield and Stephanie Ray described ongoing and planned projects including the Golden Lane Bridge, a Luther Road realignment and signage plan, the East Rosebud RTAP application, the Edgar Sewer Project, MDT rapid repair projects and the FEMA Grove Creek project. Benjamin told commissioners he would prioritize a bridge project on Tuttle Lane. Commissioner Scott Miller said he would provide Winfield additional information about gravel-pit issues following a conversation Miller had scheduled with the Department of Environmental Quality on Sept. 18.

Ray said she would look into Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding or an alternative funding source for the fire station; the minutes record that discussion but do not specify potential grant amounts or timelines. Commissioners discussed public-use standards for bridges and options for improved maintenance on Cooney/Boyd Road. Emergency Management Director Cyrina Allen and Fire Warden Tom Kohley attended the update; Kohley participated in the earlier alleyway discussion regarding utilities.
