City administrator reports WWTP damage, grant deadline and board vacancies

At the Feb. 2 Red Oak City Council meeting, City Administrator Lisa Kotter reported operations and administrative matters for council awareness and follow-up.
Kotter said the city’s wastewater treatment plant experienced damage related to recent low temperatures and noted an Iowa State University visit is planned (ISU). She reported plans to crush material at the Stickler rock pile and reminded councilmembers that Hotel/Motel grant applications are due Feb. 27, 2026. Kotter also noted vacancies on the Historic Preservation Commission and on the Planning and Zoning board and announced special council meetings on Feb. 9 and Feb. 23.
No public comments were recorded and the council took no formal action on the administrator’s report during the meeting. Mayor Fridolph adjourned the meeting at 6:22 p.m.
