South Bloomfield seeks bids for wastewater equalization project; water tower painting scheduled for June

Village Administrator Joe Allen updated the South Bloomfield council on several infrastructure items during the Jan. 20 meeting, including a request for bids on a wastewater treatment flow-equalization project, plat adjustments, pending state paving and a scheduled water-tower painting.
Allen said the wastewater project is currently out for bid; bids must be received by 5:59 p.m. on Feb. 17 and will be opened at 6:00 p.m. at the Feb. 17 council meeting. He also reported that Sycamore Point will be coming in for a plat adjustment to shift away from Scioto Estates and that he is still awaiting a date from the Ohio Department of Transportation for the final paving of U.S. 23.
The village's water tower is scheduled to be painted this year, with work tentatively set for the first week of June; Allen said the village may need to use the cross-connection with Ashville during that time to maintain water service.
No contracts or bid awards were approved at the Jan. 20 meeting; administrators provided schedule and procedural information for council and new members to prepare for upcoming procurement steps.
