The Village of South Bloomfield Village Council approved six ordinances at its Dec. 1 meeting, including a moratorium on the issuance and processing of permits that would allow cultivation, processing and retail dispensing of adult‑use cannabis within village limits.
Councilmember Dena Cobb moved to approve Ordinance 2025‑22, the moratorium on adult‑use cannabis permits; the motion carried 4–1, with Councilman Ken Everts voting no. "Ordinance 2025‑22" was presented on its second reading and adopted by the council.
The council also approved on second reading Ordinance 2025‑23, amending Section 138.02 (Adult Use Cannabis Control; Limits on Conduct by Individuals); Ordinance 2025‑24, adopting an updated land use plan for the North Gate Alliance; Ordinance 2025‑25, making temporary appropriations for calendar year 2026; Ordinance 2025‑26, adopting the 2025 Planning and Zoning Book; and Ordinance 2025‑27, amending Section 76.14 (Parking) of the village code.
