Allamakee Comm School District board awards $3,537,535 HVAC contract; approves asbestos testing and gym roof recoating

The board also approved an asbestos testing proposal from Advanced Environmental Testing and Abatement, Inc. for $8,500. That motion was made by Jesse Delaney, seconded by John Palmer, and carried with all ayes from members present.
Finally, the board approved a recoating proposal from Moss Roofing & Insulation for the East Elementary big gym roof for $28,700. The proposal includes a 12-year labor and material warranty. Jesse Delaney moved the motion, Beth Shafer seconded it, and the vote was unanimous among those present.
Board President Erik Helgerson called the meeting to order. Present were board members Beth Shafer, Erik Helgerson, Jesse Delaney and John Palmer; Kelly Deeney was absent. Superintendent Jay Mathis and staff member Tyler Plein were listed in attendance; Jaime Curtin is board secretary.
All three motions were recorded as passing with “all ayes.” The meeting adjourned at 5:44 p.m.
