Under personnel recommendations the board approved hiring Tess Hawes as an instructional coach and Hailey Stortz as an 8–12 school counselor, among others; approved an increase in paraeducator hours for Marin Marti; and approved Joey Lapel as a third grade teacher and Jill Baxter as preschool PLC teacher leader. The consent packet also listed custodial and bus staffing additions and summer custodial help (Nate Keenan). The district recorded several resignations, including Andrew Reichard from the Technology Director position, Neil Heins (custodian), Brody Baxter (9th grade football coach), Kari Burke (building secretary) and Marcus Bell (technology assistant). Transfers included Kelli Olson moving to East Elementary Principal/Curriculum Director and other internal reassignments.
The board approved an out-of-state field trip for fifth-grade students to Villa Louis in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, scheduled for May 14, 2026. The consent agenda also included student teacher agreements with Morningside University and Upper Iowa University, a Medicaid billing service agreement and an AEA purchasing agreement.
All items listed under the consent agenda were approved together; the minutes show no individual discussion recorded for each consent item. The board will proceed with issuing any related contracts or onboarding steps consistent with the approved personnel actions.
