South Bloomfield council appoints two new members after executive session

That motion carried with Woody Blanton, Lisa McDorman and Amber Murphy voting yes and Tim Ooten recorded as abstaining.
Mayor Aaron Thomas had explained the procedure and timeframe for appointments before council interviewed four candidates earlier in the meeting. The interviews included Sean Shaw, Sean Corley, Bing Crosby Jr. and Nicole Jenkins. Council entered executive session citing R.C. 121.22(G)(1) — the statutory provision allowing private discussion of personnel matters — and concluded the session before returning to public votes.
The council recorded votes for both appointments. The meeting minutes show council moved directly from the executive session to the appointments, and both motions were adopted during the Jan. 5 meeting. The appointments fill open seats on the five-member council; the minutes do not specify term lengths for the appointees.
The council is expected to confirm any additional administrative steps required by ordinance or bylaw to formalize the new members’ service at a future meeting.
