Town-common fence contract signed; coordination meeting set for June 29

Chair Kevin Miller said a coordination meeting with DPW, Neland Construction and VHB consultants is scheduled for Monday, June 29 to finalize site details and a sequence of work. When a commissioner asked whether the contract remains within the project's budget, Miller replied, "Yes, it is. It is within budget," while noting that some add-alternates were omitted and final details will be resolved at the site meeting.
Miller said the Historical Commission is a co-sponsor of the project with the select board and that Community Preservation Act (CPC) funds are part of the financing picture. He will attend the June 29 meeting and said he has invited a select-board representative to participate. The chair emphasized the town common’s central role in downtown identity and said the commission will report back with outcomes of the DPW coordination meeting.
Next steps include field-level coordination on the omitted add-alternates, confirmation of the construction schedule, and coordination with CPC and the town accountant on any remaining funding conditions before work begins.
