Council discussed a proposal from Ty (public works) that the local hauler had asked to dump septic waste in the nearest manhole west of the lift station to avoid longer drives to New Ulm. Ty said the largest tank the hauler uses is about 2,500 gallons and that typical unloads would take roughly 15 minutes.
Council members pressed staff on controls and oversight. Ty said the company would be licensed and provide paperwork from origins and that staff would be present for draining; Attorney/administration language should make the license revocable at the city’s discretion. Council agreed staff should prepare a short, written agreement that defines scheduling, reporting and revocation authority before the service begins.
Rose moved to approve the proposal setting the fee at $80 per 1,000 gallons and directing staff to finalize the contract; the motion was seconded and carried.
The council recorded no further conditions on when the service could begin; staff will return the signed agreement for the public record if required.
