Castle Dale council approves liquor-license transfer for Ruiz, clears preschool licenses

The Castle Dale City Council on May 26 approved a transfer of a convenience-store liquor license into the name of Ruiz, subject to the applicant providing an employer identification number and to final approval by the mayor. The council also approved a business license for preschool operator Stacey Price and a license for 'Meaningful Minds.'

Council member Kerry moved to approve the liquor-license transfer on the conditions that the mayor sign off on the license and that the applicant provide an EIN; Candy seconded the motion and the council voted "all in favor." Kerry told the council that state requirements applicable to a daycare located close to a liquor store had been reviewed and said, "there shouldn't be an issue." The council separately approved the Meaningful Minds license after a motion from Kerry and a second from Delyn; that vote was recorded as "all in favor."
