Brick Township recognizes DARE essay and poster winners at council meeting
Summary
Mayor and Officer Victoria presented certificates and thanked partners for the DARE program; dozens of fifth-grade students were called forward to receive awards and Staples provided laminated poster boards.
At the start of the council meeting, Mayor Crate invited Officer Victoria from the Brick Township Police Department to recognize fifth-grade winners of the DARE poster and essay contest.
Officer Victoria thanked the mayor and council for continuing support of DARE and acknowledged Carol Hobbs of Staples for preparing laminated poster boards that showcased students’ work. She praised the students for their creativity and leadership and called winners forward by name for certificate presentations and photographs.
Students recognized included Beatrice Yates, Jeremiah Johnson, Gemma Katz, Raul Reese Roca, Mia Maldonado, Joseph San Giovanni, Ava Renato, Nicholas Sullivan, Declan Murphy, Rose Byrne, Isabella Di Cesar and Anna Rendiero. Council members applauded and congratulated the children.
The ceremony was brief and ceremonial; it preceded the evening’s regular business.
