Waterloo Local board thanks interim superintendent, readies leadership transition and hears end-of-year principal reports

The Waterloo Local Board of Education used its June meeting to acknowledge leadership transitions and hear end-of-year reports from school principals.
Board members publicly thanked Robert (Bob) Wolf for serving as interim superintendent. Wolf identified himself in remarks: "My name is Robert Wolf and I'm proud to say that I'm superintendent of Waterloo Local Schools," and noted prior service as principal and superintendent. The board said a newly hired superintendent (referred to in the meeting as Mr. H) will begin at the end of July and the board recently appointed Dane Wise to a board seat; Wise was not present at the meeting.
The junior/senior high principal briefed the board on senior events and graduation, acknowledged senior class advisors and staff who organized events, and reported that open-enrollment applicants were accommodated except for one applicant denied on disciplinary grounds. The principal also described junior high awards, field day activities and noted seven candidates had been selected for first-round interviews for an assistant-principal vacancy.
The elementary principal reported award assemblies and kindergarten graduation celebrations, thanked volunteers and staff, listed several staff departures and retirements, and provided updated grade-by-grade enrollment projections for next year: kindergarten 52; first grade 58; second 57; third 42; fourth 66; fifth 69; and sixth 48.
Board members noted regional enrollment context and discussed facilities work including an upcoming auto-precision lab remodel and rooftop unit replacements. The meeting closed after routine business and a vote to enter executive session to discuss employment matters.
