Board approves variance for 8-foot deer fence at 401 E. Callowhill Road

The East Rockhill Township Zoning Hearing Board on Sept. 30 granted a variance to Tabor Road LLC to allow an eight-foot-high deer fence within setback areas at 401 E. Callowhill Road in Perkasie.
Tabor Road LLC sought relief from §27-1705 and §27-1709.a of the Zoning Ordinance for properties identified as Tax Map Parcels 12-138-1 and 12-13-8-2 in the CO Commercial Office district. Mr. Joe Koenig testified on behalf of the applicant; family members Laura, John and Bethany Koenig attended the hearing in support. Mason Chant of 500 Branch Road offered public comment in support of the variance.
On a motion by Patricia McAnally, seconded by John Fenley, the board voted to grant the variance conditioned on compliance with testimony and exhibits presented at the hearing. The three board members present'John Fenley, Arlo Eby and Patricia McAnally'voted unanimously in favor. Executed Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Decision will be the official decision of the Zoning Hearing Board.
The variance permits the property owner to install the taller deer fence within setback areas subject to any applicable permit and administrative requirements.
