Statham Council awards $1.14M road-paving contract, approves pump-station meter and tables library request

The Statham City Council on May 19 unanimously approved a $1,136,035 contract with Allied Paving Contractors, Inc. to perform city road paving and authorized a $12,720.55 purchase of a meter for the Bear Creek Pump Station. Councilmember Penn moved to award the paving contract; Councilmember Burnette seconded. Terilli, Burnette, Patterson, Penn and Barton voted yes and the motion passed 5-0.
Councilmember Barton moved to add the Bear Creek Pump Station meter purchase to the agenda before the vote; Councilmember Terilli seconded and the amendment passed 5-0. At the conclusion of that amendment, Barton moved to approve the meter purchase from Flexim Americas Corp. for $12,720.55; Councilmember Penn seconded and the purchase was approved 5-0.
The council also approved routine items, including a motion by Councilmember Patterson authorizing the mayor to sign an Amicus Support for City of Milton resolution (motion seconded by Councilmember Penn and approved 5-0). Councilmember Terilli moved to table the Statham Library budget request until the June 16, 2026 meeting; Councilmember Burnette seconded and that motion also passed unanimously.
Funding sources for the paving contract and the pump-station purchase were not specified in the meeting record. The meeting opened at 6:31 p.m. and adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
