Fairborn board holds first reading of multiple policy updates, including new NIL policy for athletics

Board materials presented the policy list that also included job-related expense policies (po 3440 and po 4440), entrance requirements (po 5112), grading and class rank (po 5421; po 5430), budget preparation and procurement policies (po 6220; po 6320; po 6325), credit card and procurement card uses (po 6423; po 6424) and vendor relations (po 6460), plus new guidelines on affinity or rewards programs (po 6465) and food services (po 8500). The items were presented as a first reading; no adoption vote is recorded in the minutes.
The board also acknowledged gifts and donations received for district programs: $100 from Flatter Insurance Agency to support Fairborn High School boys track; $250 from Neil and Judy Robinson to the Committee for After Prom; and hygiene-product donations from the YMCA for students.
A work session convened at the meeting to discuss future special session dates. The first-reading status means the listed policy changes will return for further consideration at a later meeting before any formal adoption vote.
