Danvers Electric reports engineering progress, staffing updates and system preparations for May go-live

Utility Director Clint Allen told the Town of Danvers Municipal Light Board on March 24 that multiple operational projects are advancing and that staff changes and system upgrades are imminent.
Allen provided an engineering update covering work at the Northland Substation and Station 42 and described progress on the division’s fiber installation. He said Line Operations and Technical Services are fully staffed and announced that Kelly Kobrenski is the new Assistant Utility Director. Allen added that the division is extending an offer for a Distribution Engineering position.
Allen also reported that the division received APPA RP3 Diamond recognition at the American Public Power Association conference in late March. On systems, he said Cogsdale Phase 1 is expected to go live in May 2026.
The board signed tariffs (G2, G3 and MG2) during the meeting; Allen said those signed tariffs will be filed with the Department of Public Utilities. He reviewed a press release regarding a Danvers Electric commercial rate increase and told the board that consultations with relevant bargaining units remain ongoing.
Board members thanked staff for their work; Mike Landers asked when salaries were last reviewed, a personnel question Allen noted for follow up. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 A.M.; the next meeting is set for May 19, 2026 at 8:30 A.M.
