The Michigan City Commission on the Social Status of African American Males approved its treasurer ccount report and voted to sponsor a Midnight Hoops team during its June 10, 2026 meeting.
The treasurer reported there had been no account activity as of June 10 and stated the commission—alance was $5,225.81. The body moved, seconded and approved the treasurer ccount report by voice vote.
The commission also addressed routine minutes from the prior meeting. Because the president said the minutes had not been received, members moved to table approval of last month—ormal minutes until the next meeting; that procedural motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Under new business, commissioners discussed supporting Midnight Hoops, a recurring summer youth basketball program. After discussion about sponsorship levels, a motion was made to sponsor a team at the $500 level to cover shirts and team packs. The motion received a second and passed by voice vote.
Meeting records show the motions to table the minutes and to approve the treasurer ccount were voice votes and no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript. The sponsorship motion likewise passed on a voice vote and commissioners did not record a roll-call tally in the minutes during the broadcast.
The meeting adjourned after the items above and routine commissioner reports.
