Interim Library Director Callen DeWit told trustees that the library has hosted AARP Tax-Aide successfully this season despite some technology glitches and that staff member Ashe is planning spring programs, including a reprise of the KPOP Demon Hunters party after the January session reached capacity. DeWit said staff are also considering another WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) session and that four performers are already booked for the Summer Reading Program; donation letters have produced community contributions.
The Friends of the Library reported $85 raised at the February book sale and $780 in private contributions earmarked for the Summer Reading Program. The trustees discussed a CivicPlus quote to upgrade the library’s website; CivicPlus is the city’s vendor for the municipal site, and the proposal is for a library-specific upgrade. The board proposed funding the one-time startup costs through Friends funds or by using the Green Tree Endowment distribution pending the Friends’ approval.
On collections, staff said a patron requested the library circulate Yoto cards (another children’s audiobook format); preliminary cost estimates are about $10 per individual title or roughly $30 for a multipack. Technology staff resolved an error in website statistics after gaining access to Google Analytics, which corrected visitor counts for the fiscal year. The board also noted that staff-area flooring and furniture installation were completed Feb. 25 and that staff find the workspace improved.
The minutes list no formal votes tied to programming items; the board will consider the website upgrade funding in more detail at the Friends’ March 26 meeting. The next board meeting is scheduled for April 14, 2026.
