The board also approved submitting a request to recapture $79,200 for excess costs tied to the district’s English-language-learner program for the prior year.
Personnel and governance: The board approved the recommended Title IX equity coordinator for the year. On the superintendent search, after discussion about public input, cost and staff time the board voted not to hire an outside search firm and instead to discuss contract negotiations and evaluation with the superintendent in a closed session as planned.
Other: The board approved the financial report and consent agenda items, denied one open-enrollment request per the superintendent’s recommendation, and approved the Vision Atlantic TIF extension from 10 to 15 years contingent on attorney review and final documentation.
