Trustees on June 22 approved permits for multiple community events, including a community resource fair and two Beecher Lions Club events.
Trustee Czajka presented a permit for a Washington Township community resource fair at Fireman’s Park on Aug. 8 (estimated attendance 300+). The board approved the permit by motion and roll call.
The Beecher Lions Club requested use of Old Street between Indiana Avenue and Hodges for its All‑American Day event. The applicant described a similar scope to last year with more family activities and a larger car show (the representative said the club expects about 125–135 cars). The agenda listed Sunday, Sept. 6, but trustees clarified the correct event date is Saturday, Sept. 5; the board discussed officer presence for the street event and alcohol rules, and approved the street‑use permit.
Trustees also approved a Beecher Lions Halloween permit (Fireman's Park, Oct. 31, estimated attendance 300) and discussed a requirement that at least one police officer be present for large gatherings.
