Board chair Mark Rozum called the meeting to order at 7:03 and members accepted the minutes from Feb. 16, 2026 after a motion from Rozum and a second from board member Colleen Morris. Parks & Recreation Director Darlene Guzik presented the treasurer’s report and said she has labels ready for sponsor letters.
The board discussed proposed changes for the Food & Brew event, including considering free admission for attendees, having brew vendors charge for products rather than provide free tastings, and setting vendor fees at $150 through June 1 and $175 thereafter. The board noted the current inflatable budget is $20,000 and that a wish list of additional items totals $24,850. Rozum suggested adding a caricature artist to the event and bringing back a face painter.
Committee member Colleen Morris updated the board on Easter Egg Hunt planning, saying candy and crafts have been ordered and that egg stuffing is scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m. She said Director Guzik will contact a Texas Roadhouse representative about a possible donation and mascot appearance; trophies will be ordered for the puzzle-building contest.
The board confirmed entertainment for several other events: the West Hills Symphonic Band is booked to perform June 14, 2026 at the amphitheater for the Movies/Concerts in the Park series, and Bon Journey is confirmed as the band for Community Days and the related car cruise/5K. The board also recorded event dates for the fall and holiday season: the Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat is set for Oct. 17 with a rain date of Oct. 24; the November craft fair is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 29 with setup on Nov. 28; there was no report at this meeting on the Christmas Tree Lighting/Jingle Fest.
There was no old or unfinished business, no citizens spoke during public comment, and the meeting adjourned following a motion by Morris, seconded by Patrick Brindle, at 8:48 p.m.
