Borough manager announces events, PennDOT grant support and upcoming public hearing

Borough Manager Cindy Wells announced an Erie County EMS planning meeting, a Devereaux Day kickoff for park and trail improvements, scheduled health‑insurance and CERT training events, said the borough will send a letter of support for a PennDOT charging grant application, and reminded council of a Sept. 16 public hearing on zoning and parking ordinance changes.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells used the Aug. 27 meeting to outline events and administrative items for September and to confirm the borough’s support for regional grant work.
Wells announced an Erie County Planning EMS meeting at Fort LeBoeuf on Aug. 28; a Devereaux Day kickoff for park and trail improvements along French Creek and promotion of the Erie-to-Pittsburgh Trail Head on Sept. 13; free Community Emergency Response Team training on Sept. 27–29; and the UPMC Hamot/Erie County Firefighters Association safety awards dinner on Sept. 27. She said Representative Banta, a representative for Senator Dan Laughlin, County Executive Brenton Davis and Jessica Horan with Erie County Planning were invited to Devereaux Day and that UCCF was also invited.
Wells also reminded council that the next regular meeting will be Monday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 P.M. and that a public hearing will be held on an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance; the public hearing and a separate Parking Ordinance amendment will be advertised twice as required. She scheduled a meeting with council members to present health insurance plans on Sept. 25 at 5:30 P.M. at the City Building.
On procurement and grants, council opted not to advertise for towing bids at this meeting. Wells said the borough will send a letter of support for a PennDOT Charging & Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program application along the U.S. Route 6 corridor.
