At the June 22 work session the Board of Education moved through several action items and closed with unanimous votes on multiple motions.
The board approved personnel recommendations on a motion by Miss Butler Washington, seconded by Doctor Smalls; the chair called the vote and the board recorded a unanimous vote in favor.
Vice Chair Thomas moved approval of a board ethics panel; Miss Butler Washington seconded and the board approved the panel unanimously.
Board member Miss Smith moved approval of the La Plata High School contract; Doctor Smalls seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
Separately, Superintendent Preston Kramer introduced Uriel Beaudry as the district’s new chief financial officer; Mr. Beaudry briefly addressed the board and said he looks forward to working with the district. The introduction was presented as an announcement and welcome during the meeting.
The board then adjourned the work session.
